I provide holistic healing sessions and support for anyone who is dealing with a health problem, whether local or living outside of the San Francisco Bay Area.

I know that sounds pretty general, but I’m guessing that you can think of a health challenge in your life, whether you want to lose a few extra pounds or quit smoking, learn to handle anxiety or a phobia, or you’re dealing with a chronic condition such as Parkinson’s or a potentially life-threatening disease such as cancer. Whatever your health challenge, I can be your guide.

Ideally you will already be in the care of a Western Medical doctor who will help you understand your diagnosis and prognosis. However, Western medicine all-to-frequently assumes that you are only a body made up of a collection of organs, but from my experience I know that the totality that is you is much more than that. You are mind, body, and spirit, one whole integrated being, and healing involves addressing all those levels of your being. As a Certified Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, ordained Interfaith minister and intuitive counselor I can draw on a variety of skills to aid you in finding the health you seek, including creative visualization, meditation, bio-energy techniques, spiritual guidance, and ritual.

My goal is to empower you with the insight and tools to create and maintain your own healing. I have no set formula for my healing practice. Each person is unique, and the work I do with you is therefore tailored to your specific needs. Through dialog and intuition I can help you discover what is blocking your path to healing, then using the tools that we both agree are appropriate to your distinctive situation I can help you pursue your goal.

If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area:
Appointments are usually held in my home office in the hills of Redwood City, in the center of the San Francisco Peninsula, although I am willing to make house calls if that works better for you. I also do Reiki for animals: those sessions are always best done as house calls.

Most sessions take about an hour, although the first one will often take longer as we get to know each other and decide together on an approach to your problem. For most problems you should plan on at least 3 appointments scheduled about a week apart, although that can vary depending on your situation. A minimum of three appointments allows us to (1) understand your situation, agree on a plan, and have a first healing session; (2) fine-tune that first session and work more deeply with whatever we learned from our earlier work; and (3) do even deeper healing work and develop a follow-up plan for you to work with on your own.

Because of my integrative medicine background I am familiar with other modalities besides the ones I use in my practice, including acupuncture, chiropractic, therapeutic massage, cranial sacral therapy, mindfulness or insight meditation (Vipassana), and Western herbalism. I know excellent local practitioners in all these modalities, who I can refer you to if they would be helpful to you on your healing journey.

If you are located outside of the Bay Area:
I am available to provide spiritual counseling, intuitive counseling, and Hypnotherapy services by phone. For spiritual counseling or intuitive counseling, we can schedule a block of time during which we can talk about your problem. I would be glad to call you at the scheduled time.

I can also use my skills and experience as a Certified Hypnotherapist to help you with your problem. Hypnotherapy sessions include a half-hour phone consultation to define your problem and agree on a guided imagery approach to its solution. Then I create an audio CD specifically tailored to your particular problem and mail it to you. The cost of the CD and mailing are included in the total price of the service.

Fee Structure:

My fee is by the session; I do not ask more even if a session is more than an hour in length. Although I generally ask $85 per session, my primary interest is in helping those in need so my pricing is quite flexible, especially in light of the current economic environment. I also give discounts for multiple sessions booked in advance, and will give per-session discounts for long-term clients. If you feel that I can help you, contact me. The cost for a local session for an animal can vary depending on the animal (large or small), the problem, and how far I need to travel. Since Reiki sessions with a small animal are usually fairly brief, the basic cost may be as low as $30, while a session with a horse might be $85, which is generally the top of my scale.

I ask no additional charge for a house call—whether for a person or an animal—if it is within 10 miles of my home in the hills of Redwood City. There will be an additional charge for visits outside of that range, the amount depending on the distance and the current reimbursement rate for mileage, which is $0.51 per mile as of July 2011. I only charge for the mileage outside of the 10-mile range. So if you live 15 miles away, the mileage would be just for the additional 5 miles, or in this case only $2.55.

For phone consultations for those too far away for a personal visit, I normally ask $85 for an hour or $50 for a half-hour, but again that can vary depending on your situation. The fee for a distant Reiki session, whether for a person or an animal, is generally $30. Distant sessions must be prepaid via PayPal or by check. Contact me for more information.
